The Saint, on Kemp Town's main drag, is a charming, cosy place, with tables at the front looking onto the street. At £15.95/£18.95 for a two/three course meal it comes recommended as a place to anyone who fancies a top-class yet affordable meal, with enthusiastic service. Read the review.
Nia Café is a true hidden gem, really cosy, romantic and laid-back with a chef who takes excellent, top-quality ingredients and treats them with the simplicity and respect they deserve. Read the review.
The Gourmet Fish & Chip Company has all the delights of usual chippie fare alongside a choice of starters, accompaniments and desserts. There's even a wine list if you fancy a little cabernet with your cod. Read the review.
Pintxo People is romantic, cool and classy; laid back and fun. In my humble opinion, and if you’re not a fussy eater, the best way to experience it is to go in a small group and let the waiter or chef order for you. The surprise element makes for an eye-opening night.... Read on.
You may think Brighton has enough Italian restaurants and you could be right; Piccolo's, Pinnochio's, Picasso's. However, Strada's impressive menu range, prices, friendliness and speed of the service will not dissapoint. And it's got the perfect spot for shoppers and theatre-goers. Read the review.
The Blind Busker's smiling maitre’d was the first hint of it's intention to be regarded as an eatery as much as a pub. With the mixed, 30-something crowd chattering at the bar and surrounding tables enjoying a mid-week bevy and bite, the atmosphere is certainly relaxed and welcoming. Read the review.

Pintxo PeoplePintxo People (that's pin-cho) is inspired by the cuisine of the Basque region. Laid out over 2 floors - downstairs is a café/deli for casual dining, dishing out bite-size slices of toasted bread, or pintxos, with various toppings from Spanish omelette to smoked salmon and manchego cheese. Upstairs, the restaurant is a vast contrast in both décor and menu, geared towards more intimate dining with bigger Catalan-style dishes for sharing and a gorgeous spot to settle in for a good feed.

New Steine BistroThe New Steine Bistro, part of the New Steine, has been successfully entertaining and feeding guests and Kemptown locals alike for the past 6 years and has now re-opened 2 doors down at number 10/11 Same concept, same chef, just better!!!
It's currently offering 3 courses for £10.50, Tues-Thurs inc. Get down there! The Bistro also specialises in private parties and has live entertainment. Read VB's review here.

Another VB favourite is the Regency Restaurant "It's a really good all-things-to-everybody restaurant. It's not expensive, there's a great atmosphere ... everything they do is great." Rick Stein, author of Rick Stein's Seafood Lovers' Guide.
