   FOREDOWN TOWER

Perched on the edge of the Sussex Downs, Foredown Tower is a beautifully converted Edwardian water tower housing a fascinating countryside centre and the only operational camera obscura in the South East.
The viewing tower gives outstanding views over the surrounding countryside and across the Channel, and there are also a range of hands-on exhibits including a weather station and interactive computers.
The Tower is also the perfect starting point for a walk on the Downs, and staff can provide details of routes and maps for walks to suit all abilities.
Plus astronomy events, gift shop, picnic area, refreshment and restroom facilities. Visits to Portslade Old Manor, the ruins of the oldest domestic building in Brighton and Hove can be arranged by staff at Foredown Tower.
